A Brooklyn, New York native, Dr. Kirkland-Miller first came to Maryland to attend the University of Maryland, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Finance. After graduation, she began her career on Wall Street working for an investment firm. Following 9/11, she changed paths and entered pharmaceutical sales, but continued searching for a career that would allow her to make a more meaningful and personal impact in the lives of others.
That search ultimately led her to orthodontics. Dr. Kirkland-Miller returned to the DMV and attended Howard University, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and completed her specialty training in orthodontics.
For more than 15 years, Dr. Kirkland-Miller has called Prince George’s County home. She is deeply rooted in the community and passionate about its families and their success. For her, caring for patients is personal. The families she treats are the same families she sees at local schools, community events, grocery stores, and on the sidelines of her children’s sporting events.
Outside of Bowie Braces, Dr. Kirkland-Miller enjoys spending time with her husband and six children. On any given weekend, you’re likely to find her cheering from the sidelines at her daughters’ soccer games or her sons’ basketball and football games.
